Description:

This Type V Colt Model 1903 Pocket pistol was manufactured in 1942 and has "U.S. PROPERTY" marked on the right side of the frame just above the trigger along with ordinance and standard Colt markings. Introduced as a commercial pistol, the 1903 was adopted by the U.S. military after proving a commercial success and became the standard sidearm for General Officers during WWII and still issued into the 1970s. This example features fixed sights, the standard grip safety (first introduced on the Model 1903 Pocket), and checkered grips with silver Colt medallions.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 80% plus of the thin faded parkerized finish remains with some edge wear, scattered nicks, and some brown patina on the thinned areas. The markings are mostly clear aside from the ordinance stamp at the left side rear; the markings on the right side of the slide have been double struck; obviously a factory error. The grips are very good with some small marks in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
