This is an early example that CSMC assembled using all Winchester original parts. The receiver is engraved with game scenes on both sides with the left side showing a pheasant in a grassy field with trees in the distance and the right side shows a grouse displaying in a woodland field. The trigger plate is engraved with a dog holding a quail in its mouth while on point and looking back towards its master. The trigger guard plate is engraved with a setter on point in a woodland scene. There is moderate floral scroll engraving on the remainder of the receiver, trigger plate, break lever, forearm hardware and 3/4 inch wedges on the breech end of the barrels. The barrels are fitted with a factory matte vent rib with a sight with bead sight and marked "CUSTOM BUILT WINCHESTER" in an oval panel at the breech. The underside of each barrel is marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" with "MOD" on the left and "IMPCYL" on the right. The barrel flats and barrel lug are jeweled. The barrel flats are marked with two Winchester oval proofs. The matching serial number on the left side and "28 GAUGE 2 3/4 IN. CHAM." on the right. The underside of the forearm hardware is also jeweled, and the matching serial number is on the hardware and the wood. 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked modified/improved cylinder, ejectors, single gold trigger with selector, tang mounted automatic safety and mounted with nicely figured deluxe multi point checkered walnut beaver tail forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt and gold initial oval. Length of pull is 14 3/8 inches.

Excellent. The shotgun retains 99% original blue finish with some slight wear on the underside of the right barrel from the forearm. The wood is also excellent with an imperfection in the varnish (and chip in toe) on the left rear of the stock, overall a few light handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
