Manufactured in 1947 during the transition period (late 1945-51). Chambered in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. Hooded ramp front sight and adjustable folding leaf rear sight on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting with a Lyman sight on the left side. Polished bolt numbered to gun, clover leaf receiver tang, sling swivels, and Transition safety. The checkered pistol grip stock has a checkered steel buttplate.

Very good as period refinished. The rifle retains most of the "hot dip" blue finish showing a few very scattered mild handling marks and faint proofs due to buffing. The revarnished stock is also very good with a couple minor handling marks. Overall checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
