According to the chambering date in THE RIFLEMAN'S RIFLE, only 2.52% of all pre-64 Model 70's were chambered for .257 Roberts. This rifle has the standard Winchester markings and was manufactured in 1954. It is equipped with hooded and ramped bead front sight and Lyman 69 folding leaf sights with the receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting. It is fitted with a walnut pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering on the forend and grip, sling swivels, and a checkered steel buttplate.

Fine as refinished. The rifle retains 98% plus of the blue finish with some slight handling and storage marks overall. The markings are legible but partially obscured by the finish. The stock is very fine with some slight pressure marks, crisp checkering, and a few slight scratches. The action remains excellent.
