Manufactured in 1967 in Belgium. This extensive game scene engraved Belgian rifle features a blue barrel manufactured without sights, a gold washed trigger and satin gray finish on the remaining parts. The breech end of the barrel is decorated with a 2 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving on the sides. The bolt and follower are polished and the extractor is jeweled. The front receiver ring is engraved with a bugling elk on the right side, a moose on the left side and the remainder of the action is relief floral vine leaf and punch dot engraved. The hinged floor plate engraved with a standing bear in a mountain scene and is signed "VANDERSMISSENG" below the scene. There is floral vine and punch dot engraving below the scene. There is a mountain lion on the trigger guard which is signed "GV". The screw heads and stock bolts are also engraved with a leaf design. The stock is extra fancy select walnut with a high gloss finish, fine line checkering and floral and punch dot hand carving on the forearm and grip area, contrasting forend and grip cap with a diamond shaped brass insert on the grip cap, raised comb, cheekpiece, vented Browning recoil pad and sling swivel studs. The rifle comes with a Browning hard case.

Excellent. The rifle retains 99% plus original blue and satin grey finish showing some light handling marks. The jeweling on the extractor shows some normal usage wear. There is some minor salt wood damage visible on the four stock bolt heads. The stock is also excellent with a few minor dents and dings, and some minor crazing is visible on the right side of the buttstock. The markings and engraving remain sharp and clear. The action is excellent. The case is very good.
