Manufactured in 1972 in Belgium, this rifle features a blue barrel manufactured without sights and French grey finish on the remaining parts. The follower and bolt are polished with a jeweled extractor, and the trigger is gold washed. The front receiver ring is engraved with a bugling elk on the left side, running pronghorn antelope on the right side and the remainder of the action is floral leaf and punch dot engraved. Both sides of the receiver are signed "VANDERSMISSENG". The hinged floor plate is engraved with a deer in a wooded scene with floral leaf engraving below and on the attaching metal. The trigger guard is engraved with a bear with a floral leaf pattern above and below, and signed "DR". There is a two inch wedge of floral leaf engraving on the breech end of the barrel sides. The screw heads and stock bolts are also engraved with a leaf design. The stock is extra fancy select walnut with a high gloss finish, fine line checkering and floral and punch dot hand carving on the forearm and grip area, contrasting forend and grip cap with a diamond shaped brass inset on the grip cap, raised comb, cheekpiece, plastic Browning buttplate and sling swivel studs with quick release sling swivels.
