A) Irish Box Lock Turn-Off Barrel Pistol

Description:

These matching pocket or "boot" pistols are each marked "DUBLIN" on the right side of the frame and have a simple engraved design on the left and some light border engraving. The underside of the frames at the breech have two "crown/P" proofs. The pistols feature sliding bar safeties, folding triggers, one piece walnut grips, and no sights. Pistols of this form were popular self defense weapons during the late 18th century and continued to be produced by many European manufacturers into the percussion era.

Rating Definition:

Good. The pistol has a gray patina with some overall light pitting and minor strike type marks. The grip is very good with light scrapes and pressure marks. The engraving/markings are clear, and the action is fine.
