Manufactured in 1956, the first year of production. The barrel has the one line Hartford address stamped on the top with "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" on the left side. The left side of the frame has the two line, three date patent marking followed by the Rampant Colt trademark. The left side of the trigger guard has the Colt triangle "VP" proof and the letter "P". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the left side of the grip straps under the grip. The inside of the left grip is marked "5975". The assembly number "22" is stamped on the loading gate and the rear right side of the frame.

Excellent overall with 98% original nickel finish, displaying only very minor light handling marks and minimal surface scratches. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering and minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
