Description:

Manufactured in the mid 1860s. this revolver falls near the end of the serial number range for the third series but has the series four patent markings. It also features a brass blade front sight and hammer notch rear sight, high polish varnished grip, five-shot cylinder roll engraved with the standard military and naval scenes and marked with the 1859 patent date, and the standard one-line Manhattan Newark address over the 1864 patent date marked on the top barrel flat. The matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 50% plus of the original blue finish on the barrel and cylinder, 40% of the case colors on the frame and hammer, and over 90% of the silver plating on the grip straps and trigger guard. The exposed surfaces display a well established brown patina and the butt has some mottled dark patina. The grip is very fine with more than 75% of the glossy varnish, some small chips, and minor pressure marks. The action is excellent and most of the markings are clear.
