This is an example of a New Model series of carbine that was converted to a metallic cartridge breech loader following the Civil War. Most of the standard Sharps markings are faint, but the model marking is not visible. It is fitted with a sling bar and ring on the left side, Lawrence folding rear sight graduated to 800 yards, a blade front sight and stock without a patch box. It is mounted on a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with iron buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good as arsenal refurbished. The metal surface have a mottled gray patina with light spotting. The wood is very good as reoiled with some small slivers/chips absent and minor dings and scrapes. The action is fine.
