Manufactured from 1863 to 1865, the Spencer carbine was one of the most popular firearms used by the Union forces in the Civil War. It has a blade front sight, folding ladder rear sight graduated out to 800 yards, and a saddle ring bar with ring. The top of the receiver has the Spencer address and patent marking, and the serial number is marked on the upper rear. It is fitted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a single barrel band, steel buttplate, and a sling swivel on the buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Good. The carbine has an overall brown patina with oxidation. The wood is also good with some cracks, scrapes, and mild wear. The action is excellent. It looks like it just came out of an attic!
