Description:

Blade front and 3-leaf rear sight, with "1858" on the top chamber flat and "V/P/eagle head" on the upper left. The lock plate is marked "1858" behind the hammer, with the Springfield eagle and shield motif on the primer door and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" ahead. Smooth straight wrist stock, with "U" marked iron barrel bands, two cartouches on the left side, sling swivels and a "US" buttplate.

Rating Definition:

About good, with a mixed patina, scattered shallow pitting and mild handling marks overall. Markings on barrel are faint. The stock is good, with crisp edges around lock plate, a number of dings, dents, and small chips. Mechanically fine.
