Description:

Hooded blade front and "R" marked Buffington rear sights, with the rear of the barrel marked "A" on top and "V/P/eagle head/P" on the upper left. Low-arch breechblock, marked "US/MODEL/1884", with the eagle/shield motif next to "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" on the lock plate. Smooth straight grip stock, with two "U" marked barrel bands, "SWP/1890" on the left side "D5" stamped on either side of the buttstock, "45" stamped/painted comb and a "US" marked buttplate. With button-head cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The barrel shows a dark brown patina, with blue on the barrel bands. Shallow pitting is visible, chiefly on the frame and lock, and a number of scratches are present on the trigger guard. Stock is good, with some chips and scratches. Mechanically very good.
