Manufactured in 1903, this Model 1878 has the "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" marking on the left side of the barrel, the one line address on top, and the circled Rampant Colt on the left side rear of the frame. The full serial number is marked on the butt just ahead of the lanyard loop swivel and the partial number is marked on the cylinder and underside of the left grip panel. The assembly number "250" is marked on the grip strap under the left panel and on the loading gate. It features blade front and frame groove sights and checkered grips with the Rampant Colt motif at the top.

Fine. 60% plus of the fading original blue finish remains with a brown patina forming on the thinned areas and some scattered light spotting. The grips are very good and have mostly aged to an attractive brown tone while retaining crisp checkering. Needs some mechanical attention in double action.
