Description:

Manufactured in 1916. The barrel has the two-line Hartford address on top and "32 W.C.F." on the left side. The left side of the frame has the two-line/three-patent date marking followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number stamped on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "788" on the loading gate. Fitted with pearl grips with Colt medallions and a relief carved steer head on the right panel. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, pearl grips with "carved ox head motif" and that it was shipped as 1 of 4 to Blake Bros. & Frankel Charles Ilfeld Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on February 5, 1917.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as period replated with 98% nickel finish remaining showing some muzzle wear and a minor cylinder drag line. The grips are good plus with a crude "W" scratched into the upper left panel and the right panel repaired. The markings are clear. The action is fine. A very desirable documented Mexico shipped Colt First Generation Single Action Army.
