Description:

This Black Powder Colt SAA Revolver was manufactured in 1876 (the Centennial). It features a blade front sight on a standard 7 1/2 inch round barrel marked with the one line Hartford address, two line/two date patent information on the left side of the frame, "45 CAL" on the left side rear shoulder of the trigger guard, and a varnished one piece walnut grip. The matching serial number is marked on the cylinder (partial), frame, trigger guard, and back strap. The assembly number "820" is marked on the loading gate. Reportedly, the revolver and holster were owned by Adam Brown who travelled the west freighting goods from 1871 to 1879 with Benjamin Eadie. Both men had lived in Illinois before their western adventures and settled back down in Illinois afterwards.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The revolver displays a primarily gray patina with light spotting and traces of case colors. The grip frame and trigger guard display 25% of the original blue finish. The grip is fine with wear on the lower section and some scratches. The action remains excellent. Most of the markings are crisp. The holster is in very good condition with some cracking, white residue, and minor wear.
