The upper left side of the barrel ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two line address/patent dates followed by "-MOD. 06-" and "22 SHORT - LONG/OR LONG RIFLE" at the breech. The top of the barrel and receiver at the breech are marked with the Winchester oval proof. The upper tang is marked "----TRADE MARK---/-WINCHESTER-/--REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.--", and the matching serial number is marked on the lower tang and bottom of the receiver. Dovetailed blade front and adjustable sheet steel rear sporting sights, all blue finish and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and pistol grip stock (unique, usually gumwood) with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate.

Very fine overall with 85% of the original blue finish. Displaying areas of thinning finish, some brown patina, edge wear, light surface scratches, scattered small dings and some mild pitting. The wood is excellent with scattered light indentations, some surface scratches and general handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
