Manufactured in 1936 and subsequently custom embellished with floral scroll and floral vine engraving with a punch dot background covering the barrel, ejector rod housing, frame and cylinder. The hammer, grip straps and trigger guard are decorated with geometric designs. The recoil shield has a relief engraved buffalo in an oval panel, an Indian head on the loading gate in an oval panel and the top of the back strap has a horn steer head. The left rear of the frame also depicts four teepees in a prairie panel scene. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44 SPECIAL" on the left side and the tow line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt are on the left side of the frame in a decorative panel. Matching serial and assembly numbers. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish with a niter blue trigger and fitted with Colt medallion grips with an Indian head carved on the left panel and a relief carved eagle and shield on the right.

Very fine as custom embellished with 99% plus nickel finish remaining. Almost all of the bright niter blue finish remains. The grips are fine with some age cracks and pleasant patina. The left panel is darker than the right. The engraving and markings are clear. The action is fine.
