Description:

The rifle has brass beaded blade front and Express 3 leaf flip up rear sights on a solid rib marked "WILLIAM DOUGLASS & SONS STRATFORDSHIRE ENGLAND". The barrels are a deep polished blue with caliber makings on the left side and ejectors. The underside of the barrels have standard British proofs. The receiver has a beautifully vibrant casehardened finish with flourishes of tight vine scroll engraving. Standard proofs are on the watertable. Scroll work continues onto the break lever and trigger guard, and the serial number is on the lower tang. It is mounted on a multipoint checkered fancy walnut beavertail forearm with engraved hardware and a checkered pistol grip stock with sling swivel studs and a solid rubber recoil pad. It includes a leather takedown case, with leather straps and green felt interior. The inside of the case lid has a William Douglass & Sons retail label. It includes a cloth barrel sleeve and key for the case. Length of pull: 14 3/4 inches. Drop at comb: 1 inch. Drop at heel: 1 3/4 inches. No cast, toe out 1/2 inch.

Rating Definition:

Near new in case with only minimal light handling marks. The barrels and receiver display fantastic finish coverage with the blue dark and polished to a satin sheen. The case colors are vibrant and striking with no evidence of color loss or silvering. The wood is excellent with attractive grain, nice figuring, and minimal light handling marks. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
