This is an exceptionally nice very early cased Colt London Model 1877 Double Action revolver that was manufactured in 1878 that is complete with a Colt factory letter dated May 1987. This wonderful pistol has the very rare "etched" barrel panel on the left side with the Rare "London Pall Mall " address. As noted the pistol has the rare small, two-line address of: "COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A./Dept. 14. PALL MALL LONDON.", address on the top of the barrel with the "etched" barrel panel on the let side marked: "COLT D.A. 38". The left side of the frame has the three-line patent dates with "38 CAL" stamped on the left rear trigger guard bow. The cylinder has the long flutes, with a "Crown/V or Crown BP" behind each flute with the same proofs on the lower left side of the barrel. The serial number (41308) is stamped on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the back of the cylinder numbered "308". The assembly number "330" stamped on the loading gate. It is fitted with a one-piece, checkered rose-wood grip. It has the all nickel plated finish with the Colt nitre blue on the hammer, trigger, cylinder pin and action screws.

Very fine with 80% plus of the original nickel plated finish overall with some minor flaking along the edges or high spots of the frame and barrel with some flaking on the lower rear edge of the back strap. The sides of the cylinder has minor flaking on the sides and front edges. The various smaller parts retain 40% of their niter blue finish. The grip are in very good condition overall showing handling marks and numerous light pressure dents on both sides. Mechanically fine.
