Closely patterned after the then popular Walther PP type pistols but with a more complex lock work. Initially sold under the name "MENZ PB SPEZIAL". It was decided by the Reichsgericht that this infringed on the Walther PP brand and was changed to read as this particular pistol does "MENZ SPEZIAL MODELL". Working on a very interesting single action design whereby the hammer is cocked with one pull of the trigger and then fired by a second pull. The weapon will then fire in a free semi-automatic manner. This can also be accomplished by pulling the hammer back manually. With a safety switch on the slide next to the rear sight, takedown lever at the front of the trigger guard, heel magazine catch and fitted with checkered plastic grips, marked "SPECIAL". "Crown" over "N" Pre-War German commercial proofs present on the right rear frame and slide.

Fine with 60% original blue finish displaying some areas of aged brown patina, edge wear, scattered small scratches and handling marks. Grips are fair. The right grip is broken at the top front corner exposing some of the lock work. Mechanically functions but slide release does not always function correctly.
