Manufactured in 1931. The barrel is marked with "COLT SHOOTING MASTER .38" on the left and the two-line address/patent dates on the top. It features a Partridge front sight and adjustable target rear notch sight. The frame is marked with the Rampant Colt, and the Colt "VP" triangle proof is marked on the lower left side directly above the trigger guard bow with "3" at the rear. It has checkered trigger, hammer, front and back straps. The hammer has polished sides. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. The included factory letter confirms the configuration aside from the grips which are "Not Listed" and that the gun was shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 15, 1931. The gun comes in a green factory Shooting Master box with the matching serial number pencilled on the bottom of the interior and a bore brush.

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish with some light handling marks and a faint cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with faded lid markings, separation at the corners, and general storage type wear and stains.
