Description:

The Colt factory letters confirm the caliber, barrel length, finish, type of stocks and factory engraving. (No mention of the gold inlay and relief carved ox head grip, but they appear to be factory.) The revolver was shipped to Sr. Don Alfredo Gottling of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 14,1928. The top of barrel has the two-line Hartford address/patent marking and left barrel side has model/caliber marking. The Rampant Colt is stamped on the left side plate. Factory scroll engraving is featured on the barrel sides, cylinder flats and frame sides with wedges of scrollwork engraved on the top strap, grip strap, butt and trigger guard. Gold inlaid floral accents are featured on the sides of the frame. Each side of the frame has a pair of these accents and the right side also has gold inlay around the screw. The engraving surrounds the Rampant Colt marking inside an oval and surrounds the barrel caliber marking. The right panel has a handsome relief carved steer head.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 85% plus original blue finish showing light spotting overall and a couple spots of gray on the barrel. The grips are excellent showing some minor handling marks with very attractive grain pattern and color. Mechanically excellent.
