This WWII era Mauser Model 98 was customized by Paul Jaeger and featured Germanic leaf engraved floor plate, grip cap, and trigger guard. The floor plate features a buck mule deer at center highlighted in silver and some of the borders are also silvered. The engraving was likely executed by master engraver Claus Willig. The bolt, magazine follower, and magazine release are jeweled, and the bolt handle is nickel plated. The barrel has no markings or sight provisions. It is fitted with a Redfield 6-18x scope on a Buehler mount and has European walnut Monte Carlo stock with multi-point checkered designs on the forearm and grip, a contrasting tip and forearm insert, sling swivel studs, and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally custom built and refinished. 98% plus of the polished blue finish remains along with 97% plus of the nickel on the handle, and bright jeweled patterns. 75% plus of the silver plating accents in the engraving remain with some flaking and patina. There are some slight handling/storage marks overall. The stock is also very fine with excellent checkering, glossy surfaces, and only a few slight imperfections. The action and optics are excellent. Some of the original German markings remain visible on the left side of the action while others have been covered.
