Made by French artist Antoine Louis Barye (1796-1875). This almost classic depiction of a standing bear holding a pot of honey is a precursor of the Winnie the Pooh children's classic fairy tale. This artist depicts that this bear would get into almost anything for his search for food. The standing bear holds the wooden pot with one paw near his chest while the other paw gradually supports the pot. This bear stands on the ground, a bronze base that encircles the bear. Signed on the base "Barye". The statue's dimensions are 38 inches in height, 19 inches in width and weight is approximately 167 pounds.
