Manufactured in France from 1881 to 1979 with a single bead sight on a solid concave rib. Barrels featuring 2 5/8 inch chambers, choked full/full with extractor. An extensive rosette and scroll engraving is featured on the sliding breech action with action lever marked "DARNE". The barrels are blue. The frame, trigger guard and sliding action are polished bright. Double triggers and the left side of action has the safety. It has a checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a serrated horn buttplate and sling swivels. The length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Good as refinished. 70% of the period refurbished blue finish remains on the barrels, displaying areas of thinning finish and edge wear as well as light surface scratches and patches of light pitting that has been cleaned and reblued. The receiver and action have been cleaned and polished but the engravings and markings are otherwise strong. The wood is good with the checkering still visible, but mostly smoothed, displaying scattered light indentations and some scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically very good.
