This shotgun was manufactured in the late 19th or early 20th century by either Wilhelm Callath or his predecessor Teschner. It has relief engraved scenes with rabbits and deer on the sides of the action accented by leaf designs. The upper tang has an unmarked gold initial shield. The front of the textured rib has a single silver post front sight, and "crown/V" are marked on the top of each barrel at the breech. The barrel lug is numbered "7315" and the action under the barrel group has "7315 Cal 1" and "7315". It is mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and multi-point checkered straight grip stock with a cheekpiece, horn trigger guard with grip extension, horn lever and hard rubber buttplate. Chokes: both extra full. Chambers: 2 1/2 inch with an extractor. Length of pull: 13 3/4 inches.

Fine. The barrel retains under half of the faded brown finish but the Damascus patterns remain distinct. The action is mostly bright with some light patina in a few areas. The wood is very good with crisp checkering, some small slivers absent on the forearm and some scattered minor dings. The action is excellent and the engraving designs are crisp.
