Description:

Blade front and notch rear sights, with the left side of the slide marked with the Walther banner, 2-line address and caliber markings, and "Mod. PP", the proper hand-scribed serial number on the inside of the slide, "crown/N" proofs on the barrel, chamber hood and slide, and "SA der NSDAP/Gruppe Westfalen" (Storm Troopers of the National Socialist German Worker's Party/Group Westphalia) on the front strap. One of the high-level organizational units in the SA, the Gruppen were responsible for Brown Shirt activities over large areas, with Gruppe Westfalen overseeing operations in the Province of Westphalia. Walther was the go-to firm for supplying arms to the SA, with the front strap being the standardized location for Gruppe markings. Produced in limited quantities, many of these pistols were destroyed after World War II.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% of the original blue finish, showing bright wear along the high edges and scattered handling marks. Traces of the nitre blue remain on the slide safety. With the exception of a deep cut in the front edge of the left panel (possibly a factory error) the grips are excellent, with a few mild dings and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
