Description:

This is an extremely rare example of an early double action only Astra design semi-automatic pocket pistol. This early is serial number "7", and it has the very unique features. These were manufactured by the Esperanze y Compia of Guernica, Spain, and is so marked on top of the slide. There have several interesting features: the first being that it is double action only with no exposed hammer. Second, it has a small viewing port on the left side of the slide that acts as a chamber indicator as you can see the back end of the cartridge case when it is loaded, and three it has the Astra trigger safety or what is called today a safety within the trigger similar to what is used in Glock pistols today. It has the correct circled "P" firing proofs on the left side of the frame, barrel and slide. It is serial numbered "7" on the front grip strap and again on the slide directly behind the ejection port over the extractor. It is fitted with a set of hard rubber grips that are marked in the center with "ECIA" inside a triangle.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine with 85% plus of the original factory blue finish overall with light general wear on the edges and high spots overall with the grip straps browning out. The grips are in fine condition with nice distinct checkering and markings with the right grip having cracked in the center around the grips screw hole and now having been repaired. Still a very rare early "DA" semiautomatic pistol serial number "7".
