Description:

Manufactured in 1871, the first year of production, with the "766" marked on the front of the cylinder and on the butt. It has factory style floral scroll engraving on the sides of the frame and behind the hammer and is marked with the two line model/address on the top of the barrel between Maltese crosses. It is equipped with blade front and frame notch rear sights along with a set of smooth grips numbered to the gun. The cylinder pin has a decorative tip.

Rating Definition:

Fair as assembled with a replacement cylinder pin and with the cylinder/shell retaining piece absent. There are traces of the original nickel finish in the protected areas. The blued components have a gray patina with patches of pitting while the frame mostly displays an attractive aged patina. The grips are very fine with some light scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent with legible markings and crisp engraving patterns.

Catalog Page: 31
Class: Antique
Description:

Manufactured in 1871, with two line model/address marking on the barrel and the matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel, on the butt, and on the underside of the grips. The mismatched cylinder is numbered "1421" on the front face. The left side of the grip straps is marked "SCC", and the cylinder has an "SU" stamp. The ejector rod slides into the cylinder pin but can be used without removing the cylinder.

Rating Definition:

Good as period replated. The revolver retains just under 40% of the silver plating with an attractive aged patina on the exposed surfaces. There is some spotting, oxidation, and marks scattered throughout. The grips are good with some small chips, dents, and minor scratches. Mechanically fine with legible markings.
