Description:

This is a beautiful example of an original, DWM Model 1906 commercial "American Eagle" Luger, chambered in the scarce 9mm Luger cartridge. This model of Luger was manufactured expressly for sale in the United States and it has the American eagle crest over the chamber area, and is fitted with short style frame and upper receiver with the 3 7/8 inch later style barrel versus the early fast taper style. It has the correct grip safety with the polished lower safety area and the correctly marked "LOADED" extractor. Numbered in the commercial style with full serial number (51477) stamped on the underside of the barrel and front of the frame and the last two digits of the serial number (77) stamped on the various small parts. The front end of the frame is also stamped "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe. It is complete with one nickel plated magazine with the original wooden base correctly stamped in script "Cal 9mm" lengthwise on the bottom.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% of the blue finish overall with just a hint of edge wear. The various smaller parts also retain 90% of their straw colors overall. The grips are in excellent condition with nice original checking on both sides showing light wear across the tops of the checkering with a couple minor handling marks on the upper right side. A very nice early commercial luger in the desirable 9 mm caliber.
