This is an excellent example of a late 1940 production Krieghoff Luger pistol manufactured for the Luftwaffe. The pistol has the distinctive Krieghoff blue finish and straw colored small parts. The chamber is dated "1940" and the toggle link has the Krieghoff trademark and "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL". The right side of the receiver has the original Luftwaffe proof next to an early Stage II and Mid-Stage II test proofs. The underside of the barrel has the Luftwaffe proof/bore diameter/Luftwaffe Eagle/2 proof over the serial number. The breechblock and toggle both have the Luftwaffe early stage II parts proof. The full serial number "10878" is stamped on the front of the frame, underside of the barrel and left of the barrel extension. The last two digits of the serial number "78" are visible on the various smaller parts and it is fitted with checkered black plastic grips. It is complete with one all blued magazine that is marked with an "fxo/eagle/37" and "P08" on the sides with a pinned aluminum base. The base has been renumbered/remarked with an "Eagle/2 proof/10878".
