Produced from 1992 through 2005. This is a gas operated semi-automatic rifle in the Bullpup design. The receiver is marked for the .223-5.56mm cartridge and fitted with a 21 1/2 inch barrel. The top of the carrying handle is fitted with a Bushnell Holo Sight. The upper receiver is a semi-square aluminum extrusion, that holds the barrel and barrel block with five port holes in the top of the front end and 2 ports in the front of the body. The trigger guard, checkered pistol grip and the remainder of the lower portion of the gun is of a synthetic composition. Similar in concept to the current monolithic block receivers used today. The address and model information can be found on the identification plate on the rear left side of the frame and reads "B.F.I./WINDHAM, ME./U.S.A./CAL. 223-5.56MM/MOD. M17S/P 03401".

Near excellent overall. The rifle retains 97% of the original black finish with scattered scratches and dings and edge wear. The grip is excellent with crisp checkering. A very unique and interesting concept rifle. Mechanically excellent.
