Description:

A product of the 1960's, the gyro jet pistol was intended to replace the standard powder filled cartridges with a super high velocity "rocket" type cartridge. It features a light weight aluminum ported frame and action cover with visible mechanisms. This pistol was even used in a couple of the early "James Bond" films. In place of a traditional cartridge, it instead fires a self contained spin stabilized solid fuel rocket, removing the need for a strong breech or rifled barrel. Fed by an internal fixed magazine, the hammer, mounted in front of the grip, drives the rocket back onto a fixed firing pin, and is reset as the round shoots forward. In place of a traditional slide is an action cover, which is ported to direct the escaping gas to the sides, away from the shooter. Grips are smooth hardwood. Included with the pistol are eight original rounds of ammunition which are even more rare then the pistols themselves.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with approximately 95% of the original matte black finish, showing light edge and high spot wear overall with a little more wear on the lower grip frame. The internals show 98% of the original chrome with minor wear on the face of the hammer and front edge of the magazine follower. Grips are very good with some light pressure dents. The rounds show some minor verdigris and oxidization and appear unfired. Mechanically excellent.
