Description:

This example has a band of floral engraving on the barrel and additional engraving designs around the outside of the frame on the right side which is also marked "THE PROTECTOR PAT.MCH.6.83.AUG.29.93" in a circle inside the side plate. The left side plate is checkered around the border with "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO. CHICAGO, ILL" in a circle at the center. The left side plate twists off to reveal the magazine which is numbered to match the side plate and frame. The pistol has checkered hard rubber side panels and rear "grip."

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially restored (the cylinder is a professionally made replacement). The exterior of the pistol retains 98% of the nickel plating with some minor handling/storage marks. The hard rubber panels are very good and have faded to a chocolate brown tone with mostly crisp checkering and a few minor marks. The action is excellent, and the markings are mostly clear.
