This late Second Model was received in the warehouse on April 20, 1882 and shipped the following day on order number 32205 according to the included factory letter. It has the standard military style sights, a smooth musket style forend and straight grip stock, saddle ring and stud on the left side of the frame, and is marked with the two line address and King's improvement patent marking ahead of the rear sight, "CAL/45-60" behind the rear sight, "MODEL 1876." on the upper tang, the serial number on the lower tang, and "45-60" on the elevator.

Fine. The carbine retains 50% plus of the original blue finish and has mostly a gray patina on the balance. There are several minor scratches on the right side of the frame ahead of the loading gate and some patches of light spotting and minor pitting. The wood is very good and has a few chips, scratches, and pressure marks. Mechanically excellent.
