Description:

This rifle has a German silver shield on the bottom of the buttstock marked "1934 20.DEUTSCHES.BUNDESSCHIESSEN.LEIPZIG" on the border of the Leipzig coat of arms. The plaque suggests the rifle was used at the last pre-war German Shooting Federation National Match at Leipzig in 1934. The flanged section of the top flat is marked "ORIGINAL-HAENEL-ERSATZLAUF/GEFERTIGT von C.G. HAENEL, SUHL". The left flat is marked "H (horizontal)? BOHLERSTAHL". The scenes on the action have "GESL." marked above and "GESCH." below. Just to the rear of the breechblock the action is inlaid with "BUCHEL/MEISTER/D.R.G.M." It has matching serial numbers, a ramped and winged post front sight, incorrect replacement large aperture disk peep sight, extended trigger guard with "D.R.G.M. BUSCHEL" marked checkered grips, smooth walnut forearm, and a Tyrolean buttstock with checkered wrist, roll over cheek rest, thumb rest, and hooked buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine as fitted with a refinished replacement barrel. The barrel retains 98% plus of the glossy blue finish with some handling/storage type marks. The action and remaining furniture retain 70% of the partially faded case colors and have a brown patina forming. There are some spots of slight spotting and light pitting. The wood is fine and has some small chips, scrapes, and dings along with a nicely repaired thumb rest. The action is fine. The markings and engraving patterns are mostly clear.
