This is a rare special order Winchester Model 1894 carbine manufactured in 1925. This carbine has two-thirds length magazine and, deluxe checkered, fancy grain forearm and pistol grip stock with shotgun buttplate. The barrel has a special order ramp mounted Sheard front sight and flat top sporting style rear sight.The rifle has a full blue finish. The forearm and pistol grip stock are highly figured, fancy grain, walnut with "Style H" checkering and oiled semi-gloss finish. The pistol grip has a black hard rubber cap embossed: "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO". The stock has a shotgun style black checkered hard rubber buttplate embossed with the round Winchester logo. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped with the two-line legend: "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED AUGUST 21 1894" in front of the barrel band. "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" is roll-stamped on the left side of the barrel below the rear sight followed by the caliber designation ".32 W.S." Oval Winchester "W/P" proofmarks are stamped on the top of the barrel and receiver. The upper tang is roll-stamped: "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG.IN U.S. PAT. OFF." in three lines. The serial number, "898631", is roll-stamped across the bottom of the receiver.

Very fine. The carbine is all original and retains more than 70% of the Winchester blue finish. Nearly all of the blue finish is present on the barrel and magazine. The sides of the barrel band have moderate wear. There are several areas of flaking on both sides of the receiver and upper tang with areas of bright metal mixed with scratches. The sides of the hammer show cycling marks, but the trigger and lever have all of the blue finish. The barrel and receiver markings are sharp. The stock and forearm are in excellent condition with minimal handling and storage marks. The checkering is sharp and nearly all of the semi-gloss oil finish remains. This is a very fine example of a scarce special order deluxe Model 1894 carbine.
