This Winchester Model 1866 Fourth Model Rifle was manufactured in 1882. The rifle has a full length magazine under a less common round barrel, and is equipped with a German silver blade front sight and adjustable sporting style rear sights. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line Winchester address and King's improvement patent information. The serial number is marked on the lower tang behind the lever latch. The rifle has the distinctive brass receiver with flares at the junction with the walnut forend and a straight wrist walnut stock fitted with a steel buttplate with brass trapdoor compartment containing the takedown cleaning rod.

Very good as refurbished. The attractive brass remains mostly bright with some lightly aged patina while the remaining surfaces display mostly a mixed artificial gray-brown patina. The wood is very good as sanded and re-oiled and has some chips, dings, and light scratches. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp.
