This contemporary Ballard rifle features a heavy octagon barrel with a front spirit level globe and semi-buckhorn rear sights. The barrel is marked "40-70 2 1/2 ST/BLACK POWDER" near the breech. The frame is vibrantly casehardened with double set triggers, loop lever and mounted with a mid range peep sight. Mounted on a smooth Schnabel tip forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber buttplate. Includes a steel scope quarter rib custom built for the rifle.

Excellent overall with 99% of the blue on the barrel, with scattered light surface scratches, and general light handling marks. The casehardened frame has some very light surface scratches and light handling marks. The wood is excellent with attractive color and grain, scattered light indentations and light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
