Manufactured in 1902. The rifle has the Third Model integral dust cover rail, dust cover with serrated edges and concealed trigger pin. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement dates ahead of the rear sight and "38 WCF" at the breech. The bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked "38 CAL" in script letters. The upper receiver tang is marked "MODEL. 1873." in fancy letters flanked foliate designs, and the serial number is stamped in script on the lower tang. It has a dovetailed blade front and adjustable rear buckhorn sporting sights. Blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever and buttplate. Is mounted with a smooth oil finished walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate with compartment, (cleaning rod not included).

Fine. The rifle retains 25% faded thin original blue finish, mainly in protected areas and scattered on the barrel. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth brown patina, with some mild pitting and oxidation on the buttplate. The wood is very good with numerous minor dents, dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
