Description:

This rifle was produced by well respected contemporary gunmaker Don Brown of Yakima, Washington, based on rifles crafted by Scotsman Alexander Henry in the mid to late 19th century. The rifle is marked "Don Henry Brown". Henry is in larger script. Most of the components display fine scrollwork engraving patterns. The barrel, trigger guard, and buttplate are blued, and the remaining components are casehardened. It is equipped with a beaded blade front sight and tang mounted folding peep sight. It is fitted on a straight wrist half stock with multi-point checkering on the wrist and forend and a horn forend cap. The middle ramrod pipe and the buttplate have swivel studs. It includes a wooden ramrod with brass tips. The bore has a rifled sleeve.

Rating Definition:

Excellent as custom made. The rifle retains 98% plus of the custom blue finish and rich case colors with only minor handling and storage marks and a few slight patches of spotting. The wood is also excellent with sharp checkering and only a few slight marks. The action is excellent. The engraving patterns and barrel markings are crisp. Unfortunately, Brown passed away in recent years, so the limited number of his high end rifles and kits are becoming very hard to find.
