Both of these 19th century pocket pistols are marked with the number "5948" on the bottom at the breech. The barrels have Damascus twist patterns and no sights. The nickel plated actions have scroll and floral engraving and are each marked with a Liege proof on the left at the breech. The hammers are slightly offset to the right and the actions have a small notch sight to allow for a better sight picture than regular box lock pistols. When the hammers are cocked, folding triggers lower from the bottom of the action. They are both fitted with smooth ebony grips and have cap compartments in the butts.

Very good as refurbished. The barrel retains 70% of the period refinished brown finish with visible Damascus patterns, and the action and buttcap retain 85% of the nickel plating. There is some corrosion primarily on the left side of the barrel and action. The grip is very good with a few small scratches and a small mark and otherwise smooth surfaces with attractive dark coloration. The action is fine, and the markings and designs are mostly crisp.

Very good as refinished. The barrel retains 85% plus of the period rebrowned finish (light pitting present under finish) with distinct twist patterns overall and some bright areas near the muzzle. The grip is fine with a few small blemishes and otherwise smooth, dark surfaces. The action is crisp, and the markings and engraving patterns are clear.
