This lot presents a matching pair of flintlock pistols that exhibit the craftsmanship of a period master gunsmith. The full length stock is metal and is coverage in a chiseled pattern executed by a master chiseled craftsman. This pattern exhibits a beautiful floral motif of floral blossoms and leafed vines that incorporates diamonds and cross patterned bands. The trigger guard has a floral blossom on a punch dot background. The front section of the barrel has a nearly 5 inch long metal shroud that, like the stock, is gold plated and features the chiseled floral pattern. The barrel tang has a raised relief floral finial that extends over the breech of the barrel. There are no visible maker markings. The butt of the grip area is bulbous and features a twisted fluted pattern. The lock plate and hammer feature a plated motif done in gold. The trigger is gold plated.

The stock retains 80% original gilt with a well defined chiseled motif. Action is frozen. A matching pair of gilted chiseled stocked flintlock pistols built by a period master craftsman that would be a great addition to even the most advanced antique firearm collections.
