Description:

Connecticut Arms manufactured these pistols from 1866 to the late 1880s with a total production of approximately 8,000. These pistols feature a unique pivoting breechblock that rotates to the left for extraction and reloading. The top of the barrel is marked "CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANFG CO NAUBUC CONN.", and the top of the breechblock is marked "PATENTED OCT. 25. 1864". The serial number is marked on the right side of the frame under the grip, and the partial serial number is stamped on the top of the left panel. It has a round blade front sight, and a notch in the breechblock release button serves as the rear sight. It has a blued barrel and casehardened remaining parts and is fitted with checkered hard rubber grips. Included with the pistol is a box with a polka dot style pattern on the exterior and a wooden cartridge block for six cartridges on the interior.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 90% of the bright original high polish blue finish with some patches of light spotting. The breechblock, hammer, and frame retain 40% of the original case colors with some areas silvered out and patches of light oxidation. The grips are excellent with only minor handling/storage type marks. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp.
