Description:

This circa the mid-19th century pistol has a smoothbore barrel designed for a muzzle loaded needle fire cartridge. It has an inlaid Prussian eagle and "D&C" on the barrel near the breech and "387" on the upper tang and right side of the barrel. The overall barrel measurement is 8 inches, but the actual depth from the muzzle to the firing pin is 5 3/4 inches. The barrel has a notch front sight. It is fitted on a full length walnut stock with checkered grip and flared butt and has a spurred trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Good. The pistol has strong blue finish on the tang and traces elsewhere and primarily a brown patina. There is some minor spotting and pitting and various slight scratches. The stock is fair and has some hairline cracks in the upper wrist, crisp checkering, hammer marks on the butt, and various other small dings and scratches. The action is fine.
