Blued octagonal Liege proofed barrel inscribed "Fni PAR GASTINNE-RENETTE A’ PARIS," with dovetailed fore and rear sights, engraved hammer with polished sides, engraved and casehardened action. Well-figured oil-finished walnut stock finely checkered at grip and mounted with color casehardened engraved buttcap; engraved blued trigger guard, set within an oak casing compartmentalized in the French manner, lined in blue baize, the lid with padded lining gilt-stamped "GASTINNE-RENETTE/PARIS," containing copper washed cleaning rod with turned wood handle. Includes four boxes of ammunition.

Excellent. The pistol retaining most all of the original finish from Gastinne-Renette, some very minor marks, bright case colors, excellent wood with only some faint marks, case lining fine with some wear to gilt stamping, rear of case with four replaced screws and other restoration work on the lightly sanded, revarnished exterior.
