Description:

Only 1,000 of these 2nd Model Beals Pocket revolvers were manufactured in 1858 and 1859 and only a fraction of those had engraved frames and acid etched floral designs on the cylinder. The top barrel flat has the two-line Beals patent dates/Remington address marking. Matching serial numbers are marked on the bottom of the barrel and left side of the grip frame. It has a large cone front sight and frame groove rear sight. The grips are numbered "195" and are marked "R" and "L". The revolver comes in an unmarked hardwood case with blue lined interior, rope lid border, and sections holding the included Remington-UMC cap tin, dual cavity bullet mold, rammer, and small Great Seal of the United States themed powder flask.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The pawl retains nearly all of the niter blue finish while the remaining components have 25% of the bright original blue and otherwise a brown patina. There are some spots of minor oxidation. The grips are also fine with crisp checkering and dings along the butt. The action is fine. The relined case is good with cracks in the lid, general minor handling/storage marks, and some minor stains, and a repair on the interior. The accessories are good overall.
