The Type II derringers were manufactured by Remington from 1888-1911 with "REMINGTON ARMS CO., ILION, N.Y." marked on the barrel rib. The matching serial number is marked on the grip frame under the left panel and underside of the barrel group (partially remarked possibly due to a factory error). Though the serial number is rather low, determining the approximate age is not possible because Remington restarted the serial numbers during production multiple times. It has a primarily nickel plated finish with niter blue small parts and a pair checkered hard rubber grips. It has the standard fixed blade and notch sights.

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% plus of the original nickel plating with some slight storage dings and a few extremely small specks of flaking of plating. Most of the smaller components retain more than half of their original niter blue finish aside from the extractor. The grips are very fine with crisp checkering and minor handling marks. The action is fine but a little weak, and the markings are crisp throughout.
