Description:

This Colt Model 1860 Army's serial number dates to 1868 and was subsequently professionally restored in the 20th century. It features blade front and hammer notch sights, smooth "one piece" grips, standard Colt markings, and matching visible serial numbers. The barrel, cylinder, and back strap have a blued finish. The frame and hammer are casehardened, and the front strap/trigger guard is silver plated brass. The modern case contains a reproduction powder flask, bullet mold, UMC cap tin with caps, key, and several lead balls. It has a "DIRECTIONS FOR LOADING COLT'S PISTOL" label on the interior of the lid.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored. The revolver retains 75% of the blue finish, nearly all of the case colors, and 60% of the silver plating. The exposed brass is bright, and the silver has a lightly aged patina. The cylinder scene is finely re-rolled and is near mint. The grips are very fine with a slight chip on the bottom edge and some age cracking. The wedge does not properly slide all the way in, and the barrel group was not readily removable. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp. The case is very good with minor storage wear including some rub marks and stains on the interior. The accessories are near fine. The lead balls look near new.
